Community Awareness

We can only help if they contact us. Even after over 40 years in the community we hear, “I wish I had known about Choose Hope Women’s Center when I was pregnant.”  Please help us spread the word. Those familiar with our service can be ambassadors, letting someone in need know there is assistance available. Could you provide our literature at your place of business, church, or social club?

We have an Outreach Team who speaks at community events or organizations, telling about what Choose Hope Women’s Center does and how to help. We have spoken at churches, schools, clubs, hospitals, and business meetings. Would you invite us to come and speak to your organization or club? Please contact us for more information.

Financial Donations

Choose Hope Women’s Center is private, nonprofit agency supported solely by individuals, businesses and local churches. We receive no State or Federal money or grants. Our office is run by dedicated volunteers. As we continue to come to the aid of women and their families, our need for your financial support grows. Material Donations

Choose Hope Women’s Center is able to provide material assistance to families parenting children from birth to size 2T, due to the commitment and support of our donors. Please call to see what is currently needed and to schedule your drop off. Donations can only be dropped off at our office during office hours.

Since we are unable to store larger baby items in our office, we partner with St. Mark’s Community Outreach Center in Fallston. You may donate your larger baby items to them and they pass these along to our clients, free of charge. They do not accept cribs with drop down sides or car seats over 3 years old. All items should be new or gently used.

Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in volunteering. Our volunteers are client advocates, manage material donations, answer calls, welcome clients, help keep our resources up to date and so much more. If God has placed this ministry on your heart, there is a place for you at Choose Hope Women’s Center. To ensure clients receive our best, every volunteer provides an initial background check and is fingerprinted.

Since opening our doors in 1982, we have served thousands of women and their families throughout Harford County. With your help, we will continue to serve even more.

Volunteering is open to both men and women, ages 18 and over. We have male volunteers willing to encourage and mentor our clients who will be a father for the first time or are just trying to be good dad to the family they have.

A good first step for volunteering is to attend one of our monthly open houses – usually on the first Wednesday of the month from 7-8pm. If you are interested in volunteering to help families in need or simply want to learn more contact us today.

Prayer

Above all, we need your prayers. Prayer that we continue to walk in God’s will. That we always put God on display through our words and actions. Prayers that those in need may hear about Choose Hope Women’s Center and contact us for support and help. We have a quarterly prayer meeting at the office and all are welcome. At these prayer meetings we typically invite pastors or leaders from community churches to share a devotional and help lead us in a time of prayer.
